In the ancient time it is believed that it was the centre of Buddhist people of Pangi and had great Monastery and Stupas. The Buddhist people used to trade with tibet. In Tibet at that time the pangi people were named as " Pang-Pah " which indicates that the Pangi name or word originated from Chasak Bhatori. Even now the buddhist people call Pang in place of chasak Bhatori
